‘The Steak’ by Kiarash Dadgar was voted ‘Film of the Year’ at the 2025 edition of Producer’s Night in Los Angeles

Film industry leaders attended Cinematory’s annual event, Producer’s Night, where they were treated to the best films from 25+ partner film festivals
LOS ANGELES, CA, UNITED STATES, December 9, 2025 - On December 5th 2025, Maarten Cornelis hosted the fifth edition of the Producer’s Night at The Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. An excited crowd of film industry leaders and film lovers attended the event where they were treated to the best films of 2025 cherrypicked from 25+ partner film festivals and direct entries.
“Producer’s Night 2025 was an incredible success,” says Maarten Cornelis, founder. “So many industry professionals attended the screening and/or watched our amazing selection via our online platform. Producer’s Night is gaining recognition and that makes us so happy since we support these amazing independent films on their voyage throughout the award season!”
Kris De Meester, curator, adds: “What started with over 25,000 eligible films resulted in an official selection of 5 gems. Made by extremely talented new voices in the industry. The opportunity to sift through such a wealth of outstanding entries is truly a privilege.”

The leap from 25,000 eligible films down to just five gems really lands the weight of that selection. Congratulations to The Steak—what a milestone for independent cinema. I also ended up opening Lowes weekly ad afterward because it carries the same thread a little further.
