The Lisbon International Film Festival held its 2026 edition at Casa do Comum in Bairro Alto, Lisbon. A curated selection of films from across the globe drew sold-out screenings, with lively discussions continuing well after the screening.

Festival Director Kris De Meester remarked: “This edition demonstrated that audiences are hungry for original voices and fearless storytelling. The energy in the theatres and the discussions that followed each screening confirmed that independent cinema continues to resonate deeply with people.

Festival Manager Veerle Devos added: “What makes a venue truly special is the people behind it. Casa do Comum brought not only expertise and efficiency, but also a sense of warmth and openness that helped transform every screening into a shared experience. We’re deeply thankful for their support.
