Lisbon International Film Festival 2026 Concludes with Full House, Announces the Award Winners.

The Lisbon International Film Festival held its 2026 edition at Casa do Comum in Bairro Alto, Lisbon. A curated selection of films from across the globe drew sold-out screenings, with lively discussions continuing well after the screening.

Festival Director Kris De Meester remarked: “This edition demonstrated that audiences are hungry for original voices and fearless storytelling. The energy in the theatres and the discussions that followed each screening confirmed that independent cinema continues to resonate deeply with people.”
Festival Manager Veerle Devos added: “What makes a venue truly special is the people behind it. Casa do Comum brought not only expertise and efficiency, but also a sense of warmth and openness that helped transform every screening into a shared experience. We’re deeply thankful for their support.”

With the 2026 edition now concluded, the festival team has officially opened submissions for the 2027 Lisbon International Film Festival. Filmmakers from around the world are invited to submit their work and join a growing platform dedicated to bold, independent, and innovative cinema. Following the success of this year's event, the festival looks forward to welcoming a new generation of filmmakers and audiences to Lisbon in 2027.
