July 17, 2023 - Last week marked the 14th edition of the Hong Kong Arthouse Film Festival. The official selection featured 42 wonderful independent films, carefully selected out of almost eighteen hundred submissions from all over the world. (The festival’s new online section, the OFF ON Selection, remains available for streaming until 20 July, more info on the website: www.hongkongfilmfestival.org).
Kris De Meester, curator, was more than pleased with the turnout for this year’s event: "The Hong Kong Arthouse Film Festival's 14th edition proved to be a resounding success. The festival witnessed a compelling convergence of film enthusiasts, both in person at Emperor Cinemas and online through our streaming partner platform, Whush.com."
"It is also with immense pride that we accept the festival's recognition as one of the premier Hong Kong film festivals, at least that's what esteemed publications such as Legend, Localiize and Honeycomber claim. Yes, I'm blushing."
"As we embark upon the exciting journey towards our 15th edition, we eagerly anticipate the upcoming curation process and look forward to handpick the finest cinematic gems that will be part of our anniversary edition."
